One unique survey link per person without Zapier

One unique survey link per person without Zapier

Typeform's official answer is still Hidden Fields + Sheets + a mail tool. Paying users keep asking how to skip Mailchimp. Unique URLs are a first-class object, not a formula column.

Photo: Unsplash — two people, one laptop, a conversation that should not start with "please ignore the survey platform branding."

The request shows up in Typeform's own community on a loop:

I need a unique link per employee / customer that already knows who they are. I do not want Mailchimp or HubSpot in the middle.

The sanctioned answer is still a kit: Hidden Fields, a Google Sheet that concatenates URLs, then Document Studio or Apps Script or Zapier to send. People write Apps Script at 11pm because the research sprint is this week. Klaviyo users get told the form cannot push fields into a Typeform hidden field after submit.

That is two invoices: Typeform, then Zapier or an Upwork "Typeform + Qualtrics + SurveyMonkey specialist." Unique identity is not a feature. It is a weekend project.

Why founders care

If you are doing 10–30 PMF conversations, you do not need 1,000 anonymous marketing responses. You need this VP at this company to open their page and answer in their own words. Shared links lose the name. Hidden fields lose the thread when someone forwards the email. A CRM round-trip loses the afternoon.

A unique URL is the boring version of that: /s/acme-research/recipient_abc. The page already knows the company name, the logo, the first-question deep link. Replies land on that person in the dashboard.

What we refuse to fake

WhereGoing sends the invite from the dashboard: one email per person, unique URL already in the letter. Already-sent invites cannot be resent unless the content changed. The API still only returns url — no send verb. Agents build the list; the dashboard sends.

The API is the same idea: POST /api/v1/surveys/{id}/recipients returns url for each row. No send verb.

If your current stack is "Sheet column + Zapier mail + Calendly at the end," you can delete the first two. Keep Calendly for the people who actually finish. That is the survey → interview gap, which is a different article — and a different invoice (UserInterviews still charges $40–200 a session when the cold form dies).

The research stack is still Typeform, Zapier, and Calendly

Frustrated paying customers are not asking for another form editor. They already pay, then assemble Sheets, Zapier, a calendar, and sometimes a $40–200 panel when nobody replies.

Typeform white-label is not the $28 plan

Typeform white-label is not the $28 plan

Removing Typeform branding starts at Plus — about $56/month billed yearly. SurveyMonkey white-label sits near $139/month. Paying teams are already buying this. The page still looks like the tool.
